So back in the day, for the Little Ball of Hate, watching a Nebraska game and expecting to win was just the way it was. On the opposite end of the spectrum, watching KU on the football field was seeing how they would blow it and expecting to lose. If they won a game you were ecstatic.
Two interceptions and a muffed punt at the wrong time does Kansas in.
Kansas loses at home to Kansas State 31-27 🤮
It’s definitely a weird feeling expecting to watch a KU football victory, then being disappointed watching them blow the game. Three years ago, it was more like watching Husker games.
A muffed punt return was a mistake Kansas couldn't afford.
Ballard in his second start at quarterback had some good moments, but he also tried to do too much for a freshman.
Is that Freedom Trophy ever going to be in Lincoln? My brother says if we couldn’t beat this version of Wisconsin, which was god awful, then the answer is no.
Nebraska loses another one-possession game in OT vs. Wisconsin, 24-17
This is getting really old. My wife went upstairs midway through the third quarter because she was sick of getting angry watching Nebraska games. I didn’t blame her.
Chubba Purdy is Nebraska's future QB. Sims may transfer again.
Offense stalls in the second half....again
I know the injuries hurt the offense all year long, but Rhule needs a new Offensive Coordinator. Yes, Matt Rhule has been with Marcus Satterfield for seven seasons, but he needs to fire him after this season. Chubba Purdy is a capable QB, but those play calls in the second half were terrible.
NU won't change its losing culture until it pounds it into all players minds, saying we need to find ways to win games rather than find ways to lose.
The good news is I think Chubba Purdy is going to develop into a good quarterback. Purdy has a serious groin pull, so bad that he will have surgery after the season. Rhule said if Purdy was healthy at the beginning of the season, he would have been the starter. My question is if he can start now, why couldn't he have started in the first game of the season. I think this may be Rhule covering his butt.
They needed to run more option plays in the second half, as well as throwing to Fedone and Coleman. And how about some screens.
Nebraska defense could only hold on for so long
The defense, which kept Nebraska in so many games this season, struggled against an injured QB and a hurt RB. The secondary got burned too many times.
Shockingly, the Bills won the game against the Jets after winning the turnover battle 4-1.
Bills wake up against the Jets, 32-6
The Bills finally pound a hapless Jets offense who have a teenage QB, according to my daughter.
So the Little Ball of Hate is going to be a bit hypocritical. For the Bills, was the answer to fire the Offensive Coordinator? Unlike the Huskers, No. Ken Dorsey was the scapegoat for an offense that was uneven at best, with too many giveaways. As my son said, Dorsey didn't drop balls, fumble or throw the interceptions.
You can’t fire the golden boy QB Josh Allen obviously. Since 2020, he has the most total touchdowns for a QB, but he also has the most giveaways (interceptions and fumbles) since 2020.
The Bills are on life support as far as making the playoffs this season. Due to those fourth quarter blow ups in games they should have won easily, they are in deep trouble. They have the third most difficult schedule in the league the rest of the season: at PHI, at KC, vs. DAL, at LAC, vs. NE, at MIA. Not exactly a victorious pathway, huh.
