So Football beats Northwestern on the football field and No. 2 Volleyball beats No. 1 Wisconsin. The Little Ball of Hate dives into both wins.
A great day in Lincoln
The Huskers defense owned the Wildcats offense.
Football beats Northwestern 17-9 to go 4-3
In what has been a usual ugly win NU gets that much closer to a bowl berth.
Not sure if we learned anything more about this team.
Defense tough again
Once again this defense shows the ability to shut down a Big Ten offense, granted not a very good one. That is five teas held to 14 or less points. That is six teams held to 85 or less rushing yards per game.
This team is led by this defense and it is proving to be one of the best in the Big Ten.
Question is are they good enough to carry this team? Because that's what it's going to take.
Offense an onion to unpeel
Is there a quarterback on the depth chart who can go through a game without creating a huge mistake that will lose the game? I swear to god if we could just hold onto the ball we would have at least one more win. Sims has proven he is not trustworthy with the ball. Haarberg is close to losing my trust as well.
Can we just stick to the ground game. Our passing game is horrible. Is it time to give Purdy a shot?
We are averaging 234.8 rushing yards per game, 5.5 yards per play.. Those are good numbers. Go back to the old Dr. TO mentality to run it down their throats. Hell it worked for 25 years. Don't change it if it is working!
Moving forward...
I'm not going to get greedy, but the Western Division is not out of reach. Yes it's a sad division, but Nebraska is just as good or bad as all the teams in this division.
A more realistic goal is a bowl this year. Only two more wins are needed to qualify. On the schedule possible wins: Purdue, Michigan State, Wisconsin, and Iowa. I see two more wins in there.
Huskers pull it off! Will be No. 1 next week.
No. 2 Volleyball upsets No. 1 Wisconsin in the game of the year in Lincoln
Kind of crazy that the hottest sporting ticket in Lincoln today was to see the Volleyball team for $250 A TICKET.
Wisconsin had a 10 match win streak against the Huskers. That sounds more like a Badger football streak against Nebraska.
There is a new Sheriff in town!
What a match!
Nebraska wins the first game, but the top-ranked team showed why they have been no. 1 and pounded NU games 2 and 3. Thankfully NU woke up to force a 5th game.
The fifth game was back and forth, some great digs. Nebraska pulled out the game and match thanks to a great challenge on the last point by Coach Cook, saying that Wisconsin touched the net illegally.
Nebraska is primed for another National Championship!
