So I moved up to Towson in 2010 mainly because of the schools, my son was going into first grade and we enrolled him into Stoneleigh Elementary, and we had friends in the area, and my best East Coast friend Kevin Van Valkenburg and his wife were down the street and I told Kevin we need our local bar and we tried downtown Towson. No good vibes, we tried the Kent House, the Crease, the Towson Tavern….all of them were terrible for multiple reasons, then we hit the Swallow at the Hollow. A great sports bar, a “dive” if you want to tag this bar that way. Great food, ice cold beer, and great service. I told Kev, this is our spot.
And it is the Cheers of Towson, every knows you, and people are worried if they don’t see you in a while. I got divorced the first time, yes the first time and I am from Nebraska. I had no family local, and the community at the Swallow took care of me. Hell, I met my mover Dave at the bar. Needless to say I have met my best friends through the Swallow.
And this is the best shirt that exists!

I had a stroke in 2018, and my phone was left in my house, I was in the ER, and because the community is that amazing my girlfriend at the time found the bartender at the Swallow on their Facebook page to let all my friends know of my situation.
For my parents’ 50th Anniversary and 70th birthday party, I asked the Owner if I could put up Nebraska and Twins flags in the bar. At first he was like no way, then he said I don’t care.
It is easily my second family. And I mean even in the worst situations. My man Ozzie lost his son in his 20s from Cancer and the Swallow made sure that their family was taken care of no charge for food.
We lost a regular last week from a car accident and the regulars from the bar rally. That’s what a great neighborhood bar does.
I love the Swallow ❤️
