The committee is lucky college football moves to a 12-team playoff next year. If I was the ACC commissioner I would call for an investigation. And if you don’t think a SEC bias wasn’t involved you are crazy.
Florida State, a 13-0 team who wins a Power-5 conference championship is left out? That has never happened before. If this happened to the SEC can you imagine the stink that would have caused?
I'm surprised they didn't try to find a way to put Georgia in the playoffs as well!
Florida State got screwed. Their defense should have been rewarded with a playoff berth.
The case for Florida State
By the way, the Little Ball of Hate cannot stand Florida State, so you know that my reasons are legit. Oh, I hate Alabama, so my intentions may not be honest 😆
The Seminoles should not be punished for losing their top two quarterbacks. If nothing else, they should be rewarded for winning despite this adversity.
You lose your Heisman hopeful earlier in the season and still go undefeated? Impressive.
I feel terrible for FSU quarterback Jordan Travis, and I agree with him, not the part about his broken leg. As a guy who also broke his leg. I know the feeling of wanting to help your team or family out, but you can’t.
He Tweeted: “Devastated. Heartbroken. In so much disbelief, I wish my leg broke earlier in the season so y’all could see this team is much more than the quarterback. I thought results matter. 13-0 and this roster matches up across any team in those top 4 rankings. I am so sorry. Go Noles!”
And then losing Tate Rodemaker to a chicken shit hit by the Florida Gators defense last week. Watch this hit and tell me why that Florida player shouldn’t have been suspended for the rest of the season. And that shouldn’t cost FSU a spot at the championship table.
Seminole defense was elite this season. And look at Nebraska’s defense rankings Husker fans 😮
Florida State’s stats are impressive: 21 points a game (#6, Alabama #17, Nebraska #16), 305.7 total yards per game and 4.8 yards per play (#14, Alabama #18, Nebraska #13), 156 rushing yards per game (#40, Alabama #31, NU #6), 165 passing yards per game (#8, Alabama #23, NU #42). And you know if Alabama had gone undefeated with three different QBs and a dominating defense like that we would be hearing about how resilient the Crimson Tide was.
SEC bias? Hell yes. Look at these idiots. They knew that whoever won the game was getting a spot in the playoff 💩.
Case against Alabama
If not for a late Alabama TD with :32 left against a crappy 6-6 Auburn team, this wouldn’t even be an issue.
The funny thing is Florida State’s resume was hurt by the power of the SEC, which was lacking this year. To open the season FSU beats then No. 5 LSU 45-24. LSU ends with three losses and ends at No. 13.
The ACC loses out on quite a bit of money as well. Again SEC bias exists. Each conference receives $6 million from the College Football Playoff for each team selected for a semifinal game and $4 million for each team that plays in a non-playoff bowl under the College Football Playoff. There is no additional payout for the National Championship Game, only additional expenses covered.
