So my teams didn't play so well, Huskers were a dud, Kansas hung in then got run over. But the Os and Twins are still playing, so all is good.
Nebraska gets their asses handed to 45-7 by No. 2 Michigan
Well, surprising? Definitely not. But I was hoping to see some more heart. A big game at home against a Top 5 team. I thought I'd see more fight.
Also no surprise, the passing game was not visible at all. As this season continues, opponents will be packing the line to stop the run and make NU beat them through the air.
QB? Who the hell knows. Is Sims better? Probably, but do we want to take the chance that he has five turnovers a game. I just don't know that answer.
It is going to be a long journey to get NU back to where they are playing for Big Ten Championships. So be patient....I know we've been told that forever. But I do think that Rhule is the right guy.
Kansas loses at Texas 40-14, hung in for awhile, but in the end got run over
So again surprised, no, but the Jayhawks were in the game into the third quarter, then the defense just got tired and were run over.
Wondering if a healthy Daniels at QB would have made a difference. Bean didn't play terrible, but there were definitely plays that Daniels would have made.
Questioning Texas coaching, leaving your starting QB in that late in the game? Seems about right for Texas pukes.
Did you see the Texas QB's postseason interview? Yikes, a lot of we'all and you know, definite redneck. He’s at the right school at least.
And the kicker's name for Texas Bert Auburn? Really? Really?
Yes this jackass's name is Bert Auburn. Good thing he went to Texas. Oh he also missed two field goals.
Overlooked Maryland is 5-0 after beating Indiana
So my son is mad at me because I haven't been mentioning the Maryland Terrapins. Maryland football is rolling over opponents, the latest was a dominating performance against Indiana 44-17.
Taulia Tagovailoa was 24-35, 352 yards with 5 TDs.
Tagovailoa might be as good as his brother!
The Terps should be ranked this week, probably a week too late. They are definitely getting overlooked in the Big Ten East Division.
They have Ohio State next week. Ouch. But if Tagovailoa plays the way he has been, it could be an interesting game. It is in the Horseshoe, which makes it even more daunting.
And my two favorites, CU loses again. Wishing that Notre Dame would have lost as well
We're coming huh Deion? We're coming back to earth more like it. Two loses back to back. Of course Fox Sports who is so busy blowing Deion, they can't even be honest. Did CU make it close...meh. Bottom line is USC was dominating the Buffs, then they took their foot off the gas pedal. Bottom line, CU will be lucky to finish over .500 and make a bowl. (And yes Ed G I am indeed throwing out The Bottom Line.)
That is some classic Fighting Irish trolling!
Now it is well documented that I hate Duke, but when it concerns Notre Dame football, I wanted the Dukies to win. They are only 11th ranked but I'm sure we are going to hear about a rugged win it was. Whatever, you were in the Top 10 two weeks ago, so save it. If the field had burned to the ground that would have been fine with me. They will get smoked by USC and probably Clemson.
Bradish is one of the best starters in the AL.
Thank goodness the Orioles and Twins are getting ready for the playoffs
Orioles playoff questions
First of all, Saturday night, I am watching the Orioles game on FOX. I hate it when a national broadcast team is doing a game and clearly does not know the Orioles. They are talking about Adley and said that was his first passed ball of the season. And the color guy says. "That's pretty amazing for a guy who has caught almost every game this season." Uhh no. At most 2/3 of the games. McCann has caught many games this year. Adley has played in almost all the games, but many as a DH.
Now the serious question, the Orioles playoff starting rotation. For the Division Series I think you really only need three in the rotation, but I'll name four just in case: Game 1 Grayson Rodriguez, Game 2 Kyle Bradish, Game 3 Dean Kremer, Game 4 (If necessary): Grayson or Kyle Gibson. I would put Means in the bullpen.
Now for the bullpen for sure I want Cano, Perez, Coulombe, DL Hall, Wells, and Webb. Fuji and Flaherty are too inconsistent.
Twins playoff questions
Byron Buxton is trying to make a case with Baldelli to be in the playoff roster. So the two sides of this are: 1. Buxton is one of the leaders on this team, and he is getting paid like it. If he is healthy enough and can play center field he can change the game. 2. He hasn't played since Aug. 1, and the Twins with rookies and bench guys have filled in just fine. Matt Wallner and Royce Lewis (on the IL) were the Twins' best offensive threats down the stretch. I say leave Buxton off the playoff roster. Now the second round could be a different story.
As for the Twins rotation I say: Sonny Gray, Pablo Lopez, Joe Ryan and Kenta Maeda if needed.
And now the only thing that can make the Ryder Cup interesting to watch (Hat --or no hat--gate)
So evidently European fans were giving Patrick Cantlay crap because he wasn't wearing a hat. So when Cantlay hit a key putt that would win his match. He gave it back to them.
Carley goading the European fans.
At least the American caddies are willing to fight for the Cup. And Rory doesn't like it. It even carried into the parking lot! Reminded me of those days back at Westbrook Junior High in Omaha, Neb., when there was a lot of talk through the halls until after school and the big face-to-face happened at Robertson Park across the street! The fight is on! I think I can translate what Rory said.
Maybe the Americans will wake up now. Down 5 means for the US to hold onto the Cup, they have to score at least 8 1/2 points out of a total of 12 points....sounds like an impossible mission, but your telling me a chance!
Love the Terps shoutout! Can’t believe we’re not ranked though …
